What is a vape? Learn all about vaping

Want to know more about vape? Despite the huge growth in the vaping industry in recent years, and the exploding popularity of e-cigs, many are still not sure what vape is. If you have any questions or concerns, we hope this vape guide can give you the answers you are looking for.

What is vaping?

Vaping is an inhalation of steam produced by a combustor contained in electronic cigarettes. The steam comes from a liquid called e-liquid or e-juice.

What is a vape?

A vape is an electrical device that turns the eliquid into steam. A vape usually consists of a battery (mod), tank / liquid container and a coil. There are also vapes that have a cartridge that is screwed on that is filled with eliquid. The battery generates the effect of the heating element in the tank or cartomizer, which contacts the vape and converts it into steam for inhalation.

What materials can be vaped?

Most vapers use e-liquids, but other common materials include waxy concentrates. Different vaporizers support vaping of different materials. For example, e-liquid ecigarettes have a cartridge or tank. Multipurpose vaporizers make it possible to vape different materials by changing cartridges.

What is the steam in a vape?

Steam is defined as "a substance that is diffused or suspended in the air, which is originally a liquid or a solid which is converted into a gaseous form." The vapor in a vape is the gas form of any of the vaping material. The steam looks thicker than regular smoke, but smells much better and spreads quickly in the air.

What are E-juice and E-liquid?

E-juice, also called e-liquid, is the primary material used in the liquid container, and consists of PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glycerin), flavors and can contain nicotine. There are a variety of e-liquids available on the market, and you can find flavors similar to the most basic fruity flavors to some very innovative flavors like desserts, sweets and so on. Unlike the smoke from a traditional tobacco cigarette, most e-liquids produce steam with a pleasant odor.

E-liquids

The taste quality of your vaping experience will be determined by the type and brand of e-liquid you use. Remember that you choose the right eliquid, because they can make or ruin the whole experience, if you choose an e-liquid with poorer quality, it will reflect poorly on your vaping experience. Especially as a beginner, it is advisable to choose well-known and reputable brands, as low-quality e-juices can contain harmful contaminants or unlisted ingredients.

Electronic cigarettes, aka E-cigs

These devices, also known as "Cig-a-likes", have the size of a pen and are designed to act something like a traditional cigarette. E-cigarettes often come as a complete starter kit with a mod, refillable liquid containers or cartridges filled with liquid and a charger. E-cigs are very practical and affordable but do not offer an intense vape experience. Since you can start using the vape right out of the box, even if you have no prior knowledge or experience, they can be a great choice for new vapers. Another upside to e-cigarettes is that if you have recently switched from smoking cigarettes, they can offer a feeling similar to a traditional cigarette. Low nicotine strength and moderate to low throat hits can make them a profitable alternative for beginners.

What is Sub-ohm Vaping?

Sub-ohm vaping refers to vaping with a coil with a resistance less than 1 ohm. Sub-ohm vaping results in a larger current that flows through the coil and produces stronger steam and flavor production. Sub-ohm vaping can be too intense for beginner vapers.

Is vaping healthier than smoking?

This is probably the most common question, and the answer is unfortunately unclear. Science has not yet decided whether vaping is absolutely safer than smoking or not. Public health experts in the United States are divided on the potential benefits and risks of e-cigarettes, and crucial scientific evidence is scarce.

Benefits of vaping

  • When you vape you skip 4,000 dangerous and often carcinogenic chemicals that are released when you smoke a regular cigarette.
  • Vapes are exponentially less dangerous than cigarettes, and vaping can also help people stop smoking traditional cigarettes.
  • The benefits of vaping outweigh the risks. Vaping is the first genuine way to help people quit smoking.

Here are some things you can do to ensure the safety of yourself and others around you:

    • Choose high quality products from well known manufacturers as low quality vapes can be dangerous to your health.
    • Avoid smoking in places where smoking is prohibited.
    • Take precautions to ensure battery safety, especially if you are using 18650 vape batteries. Do not use a charger other than that recommended by the manufacturer. Be careful not to overcharge your batteries. Store your batteries in a safe place (preferably in plastic cases). Do not carry your batteries loose in your pocket!

Hopefully, after reading this comprehensive guide, you now have a better understanding of what vaping means. For example, most liquids contain nicotine, which is a habit-forming substance and can be toxic if ingested. While we cannot claim that vaping is completely harmless, it lacks over 4000-6000 harmful substances found in normal cigarettes.
